This seven-hour miniseries explores the foundations of the greatest empires of all time and the incredible stories of the three iconic rulers who amassed unbelievable power and transformed the world.  While their legacies live on today, their stories have never been told like this.

"Ancient Empires" sheds new light on the way history remembers these great icons through exceptional, dramatic narrative sequences and insightful expert interviews combined with the latest contemporary scholarship. 

 

Expert interviews include Pulitzer prize-winning biographer and historian Stacy Schiff, retired four-star General Stanley McChrystal, former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO General Wesley Clark, retired Major General Marcia Anderson (the first African American woman to achieve the rank) and renowned classicist Dr. Shelley Haley.

 

A cast and crew of more than 300 were assembled for the dramatic elements of the battle scenes and CGI is used to augment the films. Roel Reine, whose credits include COLOSSEUM and HALO, is Director.
